John studied biochemistry at Sheffield University and worked for a number of years as a medical laboratory technician. A lifelong love of painting became a profession when he opened his gallery along with his brother in 1986. John works in watercolour and oils, his favourite subjects being found in the valleys and dales of Wharfedale, Yorkshire.
